YOUNG CALEDONIANS
LIVELY EVENING HELD On Saturday nighty the Young Caledonian Club once again enjoyed one of. their usual Club evenings. With a skirl of pipes and roll of drums } dancing started with a swing and the same spirit, was. maintained right throughout the evening. Keeping in mood with the. lovely introduction a game entailing the use of a broom and so-called the "Broom •J Game" was continued with and s 9 proved very popular. Following this, a community sing was arranged, everyone with the exception of the singing lustily. (Some even sang tunefully). One of the members of the club i Gay then sang two solos which were very much and the Pipe. " Band having recovered most of its breath after the opening endeavour launched out. into a lively Highland Schottische. Several more dances were also held including the popular Hold Toki and the La Conga. The club is indebted to the Mouthorgan Band, Mr Patterson t Mrs Stewart Mr Wally Lysaght and Mr and Mrs. Ferguson for supplying the ne* cessary music essential to the proceedings. It was decided to hold the next evening on October 21 at 7.30 p.m. t this to take th e form of a liard-up dance. Any member who appears in formal costume will be coldly received. Persons must not discard their usual clothing outside the hall in order to gain admittance on the strength of their "hard-up clothes" worn underneath as this is. not regarded in the besit light. Each member may bring a friend and a jolly evening is anticipated.
