SCHOOL TRANSPORT FROM OHOPE
Sir,—l have read "with interest the recent letters in j'our paper concerning the accom-" modation for the small school children at the Whakatane School. I would like to tell you of my experience last Monday morning on the Ohope school bus. There "were over a- dozen adults seated and 10 small children standing. Not one of these appeared, to be over 7 or 8 yearsi of age. In my opinion it is the small person not the adults and big scholo children who should be seated. The little ones have sufficient drain on their energy during school hours. This is not an isolated case but the general rule. One solution wouMl be to have a primers .school at Ohope with one teacher.' Perhaps the cry will be. no funds, there are many empty bachs now,, one, an ideal one» is opposite Dick's store, with two fairly large rooms and two smaller ones. If this were done it would relieve the congestion at Whakatane. This is just a .suggestion.
Yours etc
OHOPE RESIDENT.
