PINEAPPLE PETE'S PLAINTIVE NOTE
Many bright little papers- are published by various contingents of the. forces for their own amusement. A copy of 'The Midnight Sun,' comcs to us from Sunnadagur, from the British troops serving in Iceland. This particular issue contains an 'open letter' from the editor to Miss Jane Carr, the 'girl friend' and compere of the BBC programme 'It's All Yours' directed to the force in isolated pla?es. We reprint the letter below: —- Mane darling. "We arc all so glad you managed to get the sentence "From every woman who has a man in Tee'land" over in your charming broadcast without a hint of a spoonerism. And we liked the words "love and loyalty" and then again x x x x (these are atmospherics) 2 2 2 2 "in our hearts and a song on our lips." But what I want to know, as the editor, is why Private Fred Smith of fhe R.A.S.C. should get your photograph, and signed too. What about me? What have I clone? Yours adoringly. PINEAPPLE PETE.'
