WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT EDGECTJMBE The Edgecumbe Women's Institute held its monthly meeting on April 21. Mrs Hodson presided and there •was a large attendance and three new members were proposed. The meeting opened with the singing of "The Ode." A demonstration by Mrs: Lc Lievrc on the making of camouflage nets proved most popular, members realising the urgent need for this essential war work, and several nets Avere started and taken home to complete. A wall competition was won by Miss J. Pepperell. Mrs Jesperson sang "Robin Adair" very sweetly and was heartily applauded . The roll call "What 1 enjoyed most in last year's programme" was answered by all members and the Arts and Crafts days proved most popular Avhilc all enjoyed the social side of the programmes. Afternoon lea was served by Mrs Le Lievrc, Miss J. Lc Lievrc and Mrs Snelling.
