MAINLY R EHEARiN(IS The sitting of the Overseas Appeal Board in Whakatane took place last Wednesday in the Courthouse, Mr J. S. Patterson, S.M., acting as chairman Avith Messrs L. Manning and R. Coulter associated Avith him. In most instances it was merely a case of hearing formal eA'idence and of effecting further adjournments. E-ric Peter Dodunski for Avhom the Rangilaiki Plains Dairy Company appealed was given a sine die adjournment Avith the proviso that he undertake a three months period of territorial training. The case of Phillip Ashley of Eklgeeumbe for whom the same company 'appealed "Avas dismissed. Edmund Becker and Ernest F. J. Wigg two other employees of the company Avere also granted adjournments providing a three month period of territorial training was undertaken . Arthur Wm Osbaldiston (Whakatane) for Avhom J. E. Bartley appealed" Avas granted a .sine die adjournment. Henry Rudolph John (Te Teko) was also giA'en a sine die adjournment proA'iding he undertook a period of training. Samuel Roy John (Te Teko) receiA'ed a similar decision. John Beattie Skene (Manawahe) was granted an adjournment till next sitting. Wm George Addison (Waimana) for whom J. Addison appealed Avas granted a sine die adjournment providing he undertook a three months' territorial course. Wm Holmes Shearer (Taneatua) Cor Avhom J. Shearer appealed was giA'en a similar decision. Charles Alexander Spcirs (AAvakaponga) for whom W. A. S. Topp appealed Avas granted a sine die. adjournment. Herbert Sidney Grant (Whakatane) for Avhom S. A. Grant appealed was accorded a sine die adjournment provided lie undertook a three months' territorial training period. Maurice Gerald Ruddiclc (Taneatua) Avas given an adjournment sine die. Wm George Howat (W. G. Howat appellant) was also granted a s;ne die adjournment providing resciwist undertook three months training. Leonard Robert Ruddiclc (Taneatua) for whom R. Ruddiek appealed Avas granted a sine die adjournment. Norman Francis Gallagher (Waimana) Avas granted exemption till the end of next month. Victor Cyril Seaward HMI (Manawahe) for AA'hom Jas Bowden appealed was granted a sine die adjournment proA'iding the 3 months training Avas undertaken.
