CALEDONIANS GATHER
VISIT TO WAIMANA The Whakatane Caledonian Society held a further one of their popular Goodwill Ing.lesidcs last evening when members together with the band travelled to Waimana. The dance went wiih a swing from start to finish. The M. C. was drummer Stan West wlia saw to it that no dull moments intervened and kept the packed hall fully occupied. Music was supplied by Mr Ted Hayden and Society friends, together with items by the band. Exhibit 5 on dances by the Society's 'assies who had been trained by Miss T<aHi proved most popular. ,SuDT)cr was in the capable hands of JVfrs Butler and a band of the Society's young social committee. | A Carlo waltz decided by | the novel method of spinning a knife created considerable amusei ment while a further novelty was | the awarding of a special prize to the first couple on the floor in a j certain dance. All present thoroughly enjoyed the [ occasion and the pipers have had a | pressing invitation to repeat their | visit.
