FULL TEST

THE E.P.S. ORGANISATION The Whakatane Borough Emergency Precautions Service is in good heart. The controllers of the various units and other responsible personnel have worked quietly but none the less continuously in organising their sections and instructing perj.sonnel. The efficiency of the organ-, isation as a whole is to be tested within the next few weeks when a full scale trial of the Borough Emergency Precautions Service is to be held. Every unit will have incidents and occurrences to deal with and the Controllers and personnel can look forward in anticipation to a busy half hour or so. Full details are'being worked out by the Central Committee, and, in an endeavour to make the trial as realistic as possible, the authorities in Tauranga are being approached to provide a mock air raid. On this occasion due notice of the date and the time will be given and an alarm in the meantime without such notice will mean tliat a genuine emergency has arisen, A further blackout trial also will shortly be held and, as on the occasion of the previous trial an indefinite indication will be. given respecting the date. The trial on this occasion will, however, be held on s week night, and it is suggested tc residents that they review the pro visions they have made for complete blackout conditions.
