FEW HOLIDAY MAKERS
«» USUAL OHOPE CROWD MISSING MANY CANCELLATION'S Ohope, a resort which usually attracts from two to three thousand visitors during the Christmas and New Year holidays, has this j r ear suffered in a very marked degree. Visitors number less than a quarter of the usual crowd who have in past years thronged the baches: and camps. The imposition of the motor restrictions, cutting the travelling public completely out of the picture lias had the effect of diverting many hundreds who had months before placed their reservations for houses ;and other accommodation. One agent informed us that he had experienced no less than thirty withdrawals in this respect, from families varying from groups of three to seven. Ohope is however making a brave show to maintain its prestige and it is pleasing to note that those who have been able to take advantage •of the resort, are on the whole prepared to stay there for the best part •of the children's holidaj r s.
