THE COLD TRUTH

"THE EARTH IS THE LORD'S"

"If there is; peace on earth, there j must be men of goodwill, a,nd we cannot have men of goodwill on this earth, either as nations or as individuals, unless the world powers, under some sort of formula, guarantee that the earth is the Lords' and the fullness thereof, and that there is economic truth and cold social and political reality for men and for nations in liberty, equality, frater* nity. This will mean some kind of economic union or understanding which will allow every nation to develop along the line of its own genius, not hampered, hindered or restrained by access to those raw materials needed for sustenance 01 for economic growth.- This will require economic treaties by nations ofl goodwill and it may require policing of the gangster nations till they see that goodwill on this earth pays better than thtj ruthless uste of, force to secure their just rights. This ideal cannot be achieved even approximately by wishful thinking. The world in these last three-quar-ters of a century has been squeezed so small by modern invention that despite our love for the lonely life of isolation with its blessings, 'we are members one of another/ I'll this modern world no nation 'liveth to itself alone'."—W. Allan White (U£.A.)
