Inspector J. H. Delves, of the Transport Department, is at present on annual leaye. Mr Reeve Canning visited Hamilton last week to -attend the annuat* meeting of land agents. Mr J. G.' Connell has resumed dnty at the Bank of Australasia, Mr S. M. Ryburn having returned to faumarunui. Friends of Mr Ernest Armstrong were pleased last week to see him well enough to return to his office following his lengthy illness. » Sir Apirana and Lady Ngata accompanied by their son, Lieut. Willie Ngata, and Sgt Major Rangi, were visitors to the Wairaka Pa, Whakatane, during the week-end. Squadron Leader McArthur and Mr Letligard, Royal New Zealand Air Force selection committee, wero guests at the Commercial Hotel last week leaving Whakatane yesterday. Mir F. W. Lysaght, electrical engineer to the Borough, left for WelK tngton on Saturday morning to attend the annual conference of engineers. He will spend a week" ink the Capital City.
