Accident With Axe. Last week a nine year old boy of Waiohou, Mark Iki, was admitted, to the local hospital with injuries to a hand. He had been struck with an axe and bones and tendons in the middle and ring fingers were severed. Rotorua State Forests. The area of permanent State forest in the Rotorua conservancy is given by proclamation in the Gazette as 18,404 acres. The total number of articles now despatched to Wellington for this appeal is as follows: 123 scarvesi, 117 balaclavas, 81 pairs of mittens. f Cfpotiki'fe quota for the appeal is 180 of each article and a most urgent appeal has been made for 20 scarves to go forward overseas with the big appeal now nearing completion.
