A BIG INCREASE
CONSUMPTION OF FRUIT
Figures tabled at the annual conference of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation revealed that during the 1941 season, from Jan-' nary to the end of last month, the average consumption of apples; was 11 per head per week. This figure is based on an average of 150' apples to the case. The normal consumption is estimated at 4.5 apples per head per Aveek. The stupply of apples for the six months was 2,560.000 cases, and the distribution locally over the same period totalled 1,850,000 cases.
