More Eggs go to Market. Retailers have now a plentiful supply of eggs which are selling at 1/8 per dozen with the indication of a further drop in price shortly. Telegrams for Japan. The Postmaster (Mr O. V. Latti--more) reports that Petersons Third Edition code may; now be used in telegrams to Tokio, Yokohama, Osaka .'•ml Kobe. Willow Trees in Bud. Willow trees in the Whakatane countj r are now displaying bursting buds and small green leaves, another indication that springtime' is at hand. Weeping willows that grow on the banks of rivers in this district, are leafless for only a short period in mid-winter. Snow on Tarawera. On Monday morning for the first time this winter there was snow on Mt. Tarawera, which is visible from a great part of the Whakatane county, especially the Rangitaiki Plains. Snow falls on Tarawera during most years as it is one of the highest peaks north of the. central North Island volcanoes. Only at infrequent intervals has snow fallen on Mt. Edgecumbe.
