THOSE who have listened into the weekly radio broadcasts, Jin the 'With the Boys Overseas' series, will have been struck with the number of soldiers who preface their private message with a word or two for 'mother.' It has certainly taken the war to bring out the full appreciation of just what a mother means to. our fighting lads., Over and over again the first words that come over the air are for her. As ever, adversity turns a man's thoughts to the one who is closest and dearest to him. Days of childhood trials, of youth's waywardness, and of manhood's affected nonchalance, all these are recurring thoughts to the man overseas, and the memories bring with them the fullness of the sacrifice which is common to> mothers the world over—the inborn mother —love which has always been and always will be the shining example of patient service to the world.
