Te Puke Hospital. The Director-General of Health lias written to the T'auranga Hospital Board forwarding plans of certain alterations recommended to be carried out at the Te Puke materr»itjr hospital. A' letter accompanying the plans stated that the department was. of the opinion that if tin alterations were carried out and £> maternity hospital provided at Taninnga the present facilities at Te Pukei wQukl serve for many years • o come. It was stated by the chairman that in the opinion of the doctor and the matron of the hospital fiii the alterations recommended ivere not essential. It was decided that a committee from the board visit Te Puke and obtain an estimate of the cost involved in carrying out the essential Avork for consideration at the next meeting.
