N"0 MENINGITIS CASE LOCALLY

A rumour has been! rife this week that a case of meningitis was admitted to the Whakatane Hospital, and has caused some concern amongst parents. . In communication with Dr. Dawson. superintendent of the hospital, this morning the BEACON was informed that the rumour is absolutely false and there is no need for alarms One inmate at the hospital at present is suffering from irritation of the brain following mumps, but this has absolutely nothing to do with meningitis.
