FIRE BRIGADE SERVICE

Sir, —With leference to the comments passed on the brigade's late arrival at the Eivers Road fire, I would like to state this in support of the Fire Brigade. The previous call was to my house for a ehimncy fire, whiqh appeared to be worse than was. I telephoned' the brigjtcfe > and they were- there in less than ten minutes, by that, time however Mr Dave King,, a neighbour, had practically smothered the fire. I considei the brigade could not have arrived any earlier and even had the fire been more serious they would have been in time to cope with it. M. O. KEIR, Landing Road.
