Mr R. A. Singer, the well known Auckland barrister, who has been holidaying at Whakatane this week suffered a breakdown in health and is undergoing a complete rest at the local hospital. o^^ Mr R. J. McGill, of the telegraphic staff of the local Post Office, leaves for territorial camp on February 3. Mr McGill's departure will bring the number of local members of the staff to leave for army duties to six. Mr A. J, Dean, of Wellington, who is attached to the Government Price Fixation Bureau in connec- 4 tion with the fish trade spent two days of this week at Whakatane investigating the conduct of the in-* dustry. j ENGAGEMENT , The engagement is announced of Th&resa May (Mollie) third daughter of Mrs R. Hannah and the late John Lamb ®f Gisborne, to Vernon Dallenger, only son of Mr and Mrs • H. W. Percy, of Whakatane. . . : ;V'
