NEW APPOINTMENTS The honorary secretary of the Whakatane County and Borough Inter-Zone Patriotic Committee reported to the executive on Friday afternoon that advice had been received from the Awakeri committee of tha appointment of Mr J. H. Ryde to the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mrs R. Luxton, who resigned owing to ill-health. The executive received Mrs Lux ton's resignation with regret.
