THE PATRIOTIC SHOP CONTINUED SUCCESS The Edgecumbe Patriotic Shop, run at present on Saturdays, continues to meet with very considerable success. This involves a great deal of work for the ladies who have carried on. very ably, and faith fully this unspectacular but valuable part of patriotic activities. To date receipts from this source amount to £167 6 s 4d, which is very gratifying indeed. Those who have acted as stallholders are: Mesdames W. Goldsmith (Sen) W. Goldsmith (Junr), Hutton, J. Jamieson, W. B. Gow, E. Blair, Snelling, Crang, Poole, G. Irving, K. Marx, Carter, Conway, Rae, Neilsen, Rhodes, Hunt, Brady, Le Lievre, Jenkins, L. Wilson, Butler, Russell, and P. Howell. Also Misses Grompton, Fielder, M. and N. Goldsmith, G. Ranby and M. Gow. ; To these and any others who may have assisted them sincere thanks are tendered by the men's committee. We have to report also that, despite most boisterious weather conditions which involved extra work and complete reshuffle of the; day's arrangements. Mrs W. A. McCracken was able tc hand in over £30 to the Hon.. Secretary as the nett takings from the Garden Party and dance held recently at Edgecumbe. Thanks to Jherculean efforts iby Mrs McCracken and those who assisted her, who. were obliged to transfer stalls and produce to Bell's Hall, the afternoon achieved a surprising success and was thoroughly enjoyed by those who attended.
