"i have it from two gentlemen of considerable standing overseas that long before next Easter—if; all goes well with the war—there will be more liquid money in New 'Zealand than there has ever been before,'' said Mr M. Wells, chairman of the Cambridge Power Board ? in a statement at the monthly meeting oi' the board on Wednesday night.
"I am able to give you this information, and take pleasure in so doing because I am satisfied it will bo cheering news in these times," saicl Mr "Wells. "There will be plenty ot money either for war purposes or for improving farm lands aild increasing production. "Prices have been fixed—in fact they were fixed months ago —for pork, wool, mutton, butter and cheese and they are highly profitable prices. "Where everything else looks badit is something to feel cheerful,about that we will have plenty of money In this country as a result of the current season's production/' said Mr Wells, who reiterated that he had information ifrom the best auth orities. Interviewed after the meeting Mi "Wells said that there should be a great demand from Britain for ou'-' primary products at very good priecs, and the result would be a greatly improved trade balance in London.
