SMALL FARM SCHEMES

WASTE OF MONEY ALLEGED The administration by the Government of the Small Farm schemes was the subject of a discussion at the meeting of the Auckland Farmers' Union held last week. It arose as a result OiP a remit from the Te Anga Branch protesting against "the obvious waste of money and material in the working of the Small Farm schcme '' and urging that a strict enquiry should be made into the working of these projects.

"We have been in correspondence with the Government about this ques tion on several previous occasions," said a delegate, "and we have been unable to obtain any satisfaction." It was agreed unanimously that there should be made available by the Gov emment a detailed statement of the financial operations of the schemes. This had been asked for previously, without success, but a fresh re.quest is to be made. 1
