Dear Sir
Letters to the Editor must be clearly written on one side of the p3p:eiV -Where/a Tiom-de.plume is used the name of the writer must be enclosed for reference ZO.I-I I'.ii' ' J . BOBBY CALF POOL Sii", —There can be few who will disagree with ''50lb Bobby Calf " ia his remarks on the price being paid by the Bobby Calf Pool this season. Why has the Pool management sacrificed the interests of the farmer in order to bolster tip the Pig Marketing a costly and entirely . unnecessary organisation that bas # pushed itself in between the seller and his legitimate market. This concern has to take a considerable rake off from the proceeds of our calves (or pigs) in order to pay its own costs, and as it has only the same revenue for disposal of the calves as is available to the individual farmer himself, obviously it cannot pay the : full market value. At present the«, who are so unfortunate as to be ll the pool area are being socked by the. Pig Marketing Association, in, order to allow its agents to outbid those firms that are offering full value in the non-pool districts. The Bobby Calf Pool was formed iin the mistaken idea that it would be the means of getting better prices for its members. It has failed dismally and should be wiped but forthwith.
Yours etc. »' y THREE POOL CALF.
