EXHIBITED IN LONDON

— o — BAY OF PLENTY PAINTINGS A message from London, dated June 16 states: An interesting exhibition, of water colours and paintings, including many scenes of New Zealand, is being held by Mr Clement Du Pontet, in New Bond Street. He spent some four months in the Dominion, last year, and has returne.l to London with two dozen water colours of Dominion scenery and two oils both portraits of Guide Rangi. Some of the water colours appeal more than others, and "Farm in Gabriel's Gully,' "Atiamuri, Waikato River," "After Morning Milking or a Waiotahi .Farm,*' and "Opape Bay" are particularly good. Mr Du Pontet has painted Mount Egmont at sun rise and and in these and one or two others he has made use of a remarkable ''ruddy pink." Tliis collection of paintings of New Zealand is probably one of the largest shown in London fo?- some time.
