REP. RUGBY

CLASH WITH RANGITAIKI

TO-MORROW

OLD RIVALS MEET AGAIN' The old rivals meet at the Domain to-morrow Avhen three teams from Rangitaiki play three from Whakatane. the senior game being a Parata Cup match. On papery Avith the familiar iine up of the Lees and the Howells In the hacks, with Wi Kaipara, Maori All Black half-back, behind the* scrum and Rota in the fullback position the Rangitaiki seniors look to be stronger than Whakatane, who have a solid rearguard, but may be hampered if Boynton falls into his favourite error of kicking too much., Whakatane can fairly expect to get more ball from the set scrums than Rangitaiki. They have a smart hooker in Merito and the, scrum ? which was well-balanced in the Opotikii match, may be improved by the addition of Dodd as Best's partner in. the engineroom. IJpdd must work a. little harder 'than in some past games but his kicking boot should be valuable . The Senior B game on No. 2 ground should be an even struggle and Whakatane expects a win in the juniors. These two games start at 1.30. The referee for the senior game will be Mr B. Xorman, the senior T5 match will be controlled by the Rev K. J. Watson, and Mr R. Burton will take the juniors.
