OFFICIAL WARNED
BAD BEHAVIOUR AT MATCH
ALLEGED
POLICE ACTION THREATENED
''This man used filthy language in front of ladies, and complaints have come to me from several sources," said Mr L. Ormond (Referees) at Wednesday night's meeting of the Whakatane Rugby Sub-Union, when reporting on the offensive behaviour of a club official at the Whaka'tancParoa match on the Domain on unlay. It was resolved that the retary should write to the man in question, warning him that a repetition of his offence would lead to the matter being placed in the hands of the police. Mr Ormond said that the man had been ranging up and down the side line swearing. He had driven people away from his vicinity. Members of his own team made some effort to restrain him. Mr Ormond moved that a letter be sent to the man threatening a complaint to the police. Mr W. S. Henderson, chairman, said it was a deplorable case. Incidents of this sort would drive away the type of spectators they wanted at matches. The ground was not theirs and they could not order SDec tators off it, but they could and would make a complaint to the police if the action was repeated.
