Cr W. MeCracken said the Highways Board was prepared to seal a.i 18ft strip through ttie town&ftip free, and was prepared to do the rest~"»f ihe road at the council's expense. The job was starting next week.
Cr J. .L. Burnett thought it didn't seem reasonable to ask the county to pay for portion of a state highway.
Cr L. Luxton said Mr Semple had promised to seal the roads through all these townships.
It was decided to write to the Minister asking that sealing be carried out on the full traffieable width through Edgecumbe. The roadway vvould then be 28ft in, all.
