NEW PERMISSABLE AREAS
BAY OF PLENTY WATERS
Additional regulations have been, issued permitting the use of Danish staie nets and purse-seine nets within certain Bay of Plenty waters. They are issued as the Salt-Water fisheries Amendment Regulations, 1939, No. 2, and amend the 1938 regulations, under which it was declared that the restrictions prohibiting the use of seine nets should not apply in certain Auckland coastal waters where vessels of a lesser overall length than iO feet, which were built or licensed at any time prior to the date of the enforcement oi the regulations, are used.
Under the new amendment vessels complying with the conditions ninv use these nets within a distance of two nautical miles from low-water mark alongshore from the Waiara River near Opotiki, to a pointtt r ee miles westward of Matata.
