AUSTRALIAN BEEF FOR BRITAIN
TALKS FOR 15-YEAR AGREEMENT (Rec. 8.25 a.m.) Sydney. Aug. 19. The Prime Minister (Mr Chifley) has announced that talks for a 15year meat agreement between Great Britain and Australia will take place shortly. Mr Chifley said that his Cabinet had approved proposals to build roads to serve South-West Queensland—one of the beef-producing centres —and these proposals will be carried out after an agreement has been made with Great Britain.
