DISAGREEMENT OVER KASHMIR
NO INDIA-PAEISTAN CONFERENCE
(Rec. 8.45 a.m.) London, Aug. 19. The United Nations Kashmir Commission explained today why it cancelled Ihe conference between India and Pakistan, which had been arranged for Monday, to implement the Kashmir truce agreement. A statement issued by the Commission said that replies and observations received from the two Governments showed that agreement could not be reached, even on the agenda the Commission had proposed. The Commission would soon tell the two Governments what further steps it' would take to help India and Pakistan toward a final solution of the Kashmir problem.
