BRITAIN'S DOLLAR NEEDS MAY NOT BE MET

(R~\ 3.20 a.m.) London, Aug. 19. The estimates for 19 European countries for dollar aid under the Marshall Plan next year are being considered again in Paris. The committee report on them is being examined by the Council of the Organisation for European Economic Co-operation. A Paris correspondent says it is taken for granted that the committee which made the report is examining the estimates severely. No doubt, he says, Great Britain's bid for just over £375,000.000 of dollar aid will be one of those which cannot be full met.

For the present, the council will seek to decide whether the committee's report is acceptable as it now stands, or whether further adjustments will have to be made.
