WOUNDED BY CHINESE COMMUNISTS

13 SEAMEN RETURN TO ENGLAND

(Rec. 9.5 a.m.) . London, Aug. 17. Thirteen men of the Royal Navy, wounded when Chinese Communists shelled the British warships Amethyst, London, Consort and Black Swan in the Yangtse River last April, arrived back in England today.

Their ship docked at Southampton and most of them were able to walk ashore. After meeting relatives on the quayside, they were taken to a naval hospital. The Third Battalion of the Grenadier Guards—who have been in Malaya since last autumn arrived home in the same ship.
