LANDING COMPETITION FOR HARTLEY CUP
HIGH STANDARD OF FLYING
The first landing competition for the Hartley Cup was held last weekend at the Tauranga airfield and was won by R. Granger, a vicepresident oi the Tauranga Aero Club. The competition consisted of three landings—a glide approach and landing, an engine approach and landing as near as possible to a defined spot and a forced landing from an altitude of 1500 ft above the airfield with throttle closed. The standard of flying was high and considerable enthusiasm was displayed by pi'lots taking part. Results were; — R. Granger 1, T. Doherty 2, T. Oliver 3.
