FERRY TIME-TABLE APPROVED

SUMMER SERVICE TO MOUNT MAUNGANUI

CONNECTION WITH 8.30 P.M, SERVICE CAR

(Times Correspondent)

Approval of the summer ferry time-table to be operated by the proprietors. Messrs Faulkner Bros., has been given by the Mrunt Maunganui Borough Council. At a previous meeting when the time-table was tabled for approval, the question of a ferry service to connect with the service car arriving at Tauranga at 8.30 p.m. was suggested by the council as being desirable. The proprietors of the ferry service had been approached, it was stated, and had expressed the opinion that a daily boat at this time wou’d not be warranted in view of the few passengers for Mount Maunganui travelling on that car. The owners were prepared to run an extra boat at any time it was required by travellers on the service car in question according to advice received.

In approving the proposed timetable, the council decided to ask that advice to this effect should be printed on the time-tables in future so that would-be travellers could apply for the extra boat when desired.
