PAYMENT OF LUMP SUMS
NO INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN TO NEGOTIATE
(P.A.) Wellington, July 1. No instructions had been given to the Secretary of Ihc_ Treasury to negotiate with 1 Ite United Kingdom Government for the payment of lump sums, or for any similar arrangement in lieu of price increases, said the Minister ot Finance, Mr Nash, in the House of Representatives today in reply to Mr W. A. Sheat (Opposition— Patea).
