APPRECIATION OF LANDS AND SURVEY DEPARTMENT
A statement that the prompt and valued assistance given by the Tauranga County Council was greatly appreciated, especially at a neriod when the department was finding it difficult to give desirable and prompt service in view of the increased amount of work and shortage of stail. was made by the Department of Lands and Survey in a letter received at the monthly meeting of the council. The department’s communication followed receipt of a Tetter from the council written to a legal firm in the district alleging delay concerning a scheme plan in Te Puke. The Chief Surveyor pointed out that the person who called at the department’s office was informed at the time that the nlan had been referred to the Tauranga County Council for its comments in accor-
