BRITISH OFFICER SHOT

FRONTIER INCIDENT IN YUGOSLAVIA London, April 26. The Yugoslav News Agency says that a British Army Lieutenant has been shot by a Yugoslav frontier guard after crossing the border from Austria. According to the Agency, the Lieutenant with another Army Officer, and the Lieutenant’s wife, were stopped just inside Yugoslavia by two guards. While one guard was telephoning a report of the incident, the Agency said, ‘ the Lieutenant attacked the other and smashed his sub-machine gun. The man fired a shot to attract his companion who rushed out, opened fire, and killed the Lieutenant on the spot.
