RETIREMENT OF MR RONAYNE

RESIDENT ENGINEER OF WORKS DEPARTMENT

APPRECIATION OF HARBOUR BOARD

Appreciation of the services rendered to the Bay of Plenty district by the Resident Engineer of the Works Department (Mr R. H. P. Ronayne), was voiced at the monthly meeting of the Tauranga Harbour Board yesterday. The chairman of the board (Mr J. D. Alach) mentioned that Mr Ronayne was to retire at the end of the month. He had always been willing to help the board with its problems and this assistance had been greatly appreciated, said the chairman, whose remarks were supported by Mr J. Banks (Rotorua). “He has been a friend of the whole district,” remarked Mr W. A. Carswell.
