MODERATES LEAD IN ALGERIA
''HOSTILITY OVER ELECTION ISSUES POSSIBILITY OF COMPROMISE SEEN London, April 5. In Algeria although some election results have still to come in the broad pattern of the voting is clear. A Paris correspondent points out that the great danger of the election was that It might crystallise the hostility between the advocates of French sovereignty and its enemies into a bitter political feud, in which the real interest of all Algerians, both French and Mohammedan would have suffered. The results so far show, first and foremost, a triumph for the more moderate forces, and hold out hopes that a compromise between extremes can be found.
