AUCKLAND BEATS KING COUNTRY
RUGBY DEFEAT BY 22 POINTS TO 7 (P.A.) Te Kuiti, Sept. 27. The strong rucking and quick cover defence of the King Country forwards made a rather ragged game of the representative Rugby match in which Auckland defeated King Country by 22 points to 7 at Te Kuiti this afternoon. The Auckland backs were seldom able ta complete orthodox movements and were forced into the error of kicking too frequently. Nevertheless, the crowd of almost 2000 spectators showed its appreciation of the bright incidents which saved the game from becoming dull.
