INDOOR BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
matches with whakatane AT TAURANGA PROGRAMME FOR SATURDAY EVENING Keen interest has been evinced in the indoor basketball tournament which will be held at the Rivoli on Sauirda y between Tauranga and Whakatane women’s and men’s A and B teams. Last year, the Tauranga A teams won the Bay of Plenty championships at Whakatane. On this occasion, the final between the Whakatane and Tauranga men’s A teams was closely contested, and was of a high standard. Pn L l the Tauran § a Indoor Basketball Association’s annual tournament, which will be contested eariy in September, the matches on Saturday? will give the local repre sentative teams trial runs in preparation for the later contests. bJte at'B, n n amen * ° n SatUrday will 7 ° n at 6.30 p.m., with a game between the women’s B teams. This will be followed at 7 p.m. with a match between the men’s B teams while at 7.35 the women’s A teams will play, followed by men’s A at 8.5 p.m. , L
