Field-Marshal Lord Montgomery has arrived in Moscow where he was greeted by the head of the Soviet Military Staff. Field-Marshal Montgomery said he wanted to pay his respects to the Soviet army .and the Russian people who had suffered more severely, in the war than any other nation. He wanted to make friendly contact with the Soviet army and accomplish and develop mutual understanding and respect. He ended his speech with the Russian phrase meaning “Good day to you all.”
