* CHILDREN S GARDEN PARTY | The Women's Christian Temper- | ence Union held a most enjoyable ? garden party on Tuesday afternoon | at the home of Mrs Bulmer. who vindly placed one of the “Bona Vista” fiats at the union's disposal for the occasion. It proved to be an i ideal place for the children to play on the beach and bathe and ihorough- | ly enjoy themselves, while close by I the mothers who were being enteri xatned at afternoon tea, were able |to watch the children at play. Ihe | children were served with jellies and < cream. During the afternoon Mrs j Dickie sang “I’ll Walk Beside You.” I and Mrs Christian arranged a competition which was won by Mrs McDonald, the second prize going to Mrs Hills. The president initiated four ladies j as members to the union, and a number of children’s names were put on the Cradle Roll. A vote of thanks to Mrs Bulmer for her hospitality was proposed, everyone expressing thanks for the pleasant afternoon, which they enjoyed in every respect.
