W. D. F. r. MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Te Puna branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was : heif on Tuesday. December 14. there being only a fair attendance of members and visitors. The competitions resulted: Thrift handkerchief. Mrs Gibson I, Mrs Humphreys 2: wardering shilling. Mrs Williams: best bloom. Mrs Gibson 1. Mrs Taylor 2: goose. Miss O'Grady; baby’s set. Mrs Watkins; ash tray. Mrs I'Anson. A successful bring and buy was conducted in aid of the soldiers’ parcel fund. Afternoon tea and social chat concluded a pleasant and profitable afternoon. The following awards were made a: the field cay of the Boys' and Girls' Agricultural Club: Senior heavy calves: Leslie Taylor, Robert Humphreys, Rona Lochhead; junior heavy calves: Benny Humphreys. Francis Humphreys: senior ■; light calves: Feme Youngman. Diana King. Cargen Borell: junior light . calves; Thomas Lochhead. Dodothy j Storer. Captain Borell: yearlings; [ Leslie Taylor. Ray Furness Milton , Hall: certificate of special merit in j calf raising; Lindsay King.
