RENO PROTEST
THE DIVORCE "HABIT"
MUCH-MARRIED MILLIONAIRE
San Francisco, Sept. 6
One of America's wealthiest 'industrialists, Tommy Manville, has come into the limelight again by another matrimonial venture, which a few hours afterwards went on the conjugal rocks and his seventh wife, "Sunny" Ainsworth Manville, quickly arrived- in Reno to establish residence for a divorce. Strangely enough, Tommy was accused in an editorial in the Nevada State Journal of making a mockery of Nevada's Courts.
The Journal, published in Reno, .said: "Far be it from us to criticise the matrimonial ventures of Manville. It is his money that he contributes to the general welfare of the blondes and brunettes in alimony and settlements. But we are interested in the' mockery that this much-married individual is making of Nevada's Courts, using them as a tool in his high-priced sports. When his seventh wife appears before a Nevada judge in the near future, he Judge and everyone connected with the case will have full know-' ledge of the circumstances surrounding it and the granting of the rearrested decree will simply be placing Manville in position to try another venture. They will know. too, that Nevada divorce law is beins' used to encourage a- practice which is thoroughly condemned by
society." ' Tommv Manville. America's muchmarired and oft divorced millionaire, does not want to offend the divorce rich city of Reno, but—asked to comment in New York upon the editorial in the Nevada State Journal, declared: "They charge people enough to go out there tor a divorce. Why. the hotel rates went up as soon as they found out she was .Mrs. Manville."
