PATRIOTIC WORK

RETIREMENT OF THE REV FATHER ECCLESTON

ENFORCED REST PROM ALL

DUTIES

Patriotic bodies are to lose a staunch worker in the enforced retirement of Father Eccleston, who acting on medical advice, is to leave Tauranga for some time and have a complete rest. Father Eccleston, who has been parish priest at Tauranga for the past six years, has suffered lately from overstrain, and as soon as he is relieved will leave for an indefinite stay, perhaps in Australia. The value of his work has been recognised and he has made many stirring speeches in connection with patriotic affairs. His retirement under the circumstances will be greatly regretted. - '
