LADIES’ GOLF

SOCIAL AFTERNOON On Friday last members of the Ladies Golf Club held a social afternoon to bid farewell to Miss Rachel Baker, who is shortly to leave the district. A nine hole medal competition played during/the afternoon was won by Miss Baker. Afternoon tea was served in the clubhouse, and the president, Mrs Sanders, in a short informal speech, referred to Miss Baker’s splendid work for the club, both as member and- one-time secretary, and concluded by presenting the guest of honour with a lovely posy in autumn shades. Miss Baker suitably replied and a very pleasant afternoon ended with expressions of goodwill by all present.
