short story: Eighteen months ago, when Paul Muni and Bette Davis were making the film, were “ham sandwich;'* the next, get a small supporting part. “Juarez,” Irving Pichel managed to shoe-string production and made a religious picture, entitled “The Grea + Commandment.” Darryl Zanuck bought up the negative—seeing in the story great possibilities as a biblical spectacle starring Tyrone Power—and gave Pichel a director’s contract. To.day Pichel is directing Paul Muni in “Hudson’s Bay.”
