Mr. Herbert Webb, F.I.G.C.M. (Lond.), T.D.L.C.M., who has been organist and choirmaster at Holy Trinity Church for six years, has been offered and has accepted the position of organist and choirmaster at St. Matthew’s Church, Auckland. Mr. G. H. Mends was prevented, through illness, from, attending yesterday’s meeting, of the Tauranga Electric Power Board. A motion expressing sympathy with Mr. Mends in his illness and wishing him an early restoration to good health, was moved by Mr. Gane, seconded by Mr. Clarke, ahd carried unanimously. Mrs F. W. Meikle left to-day to spend a short holiday in Auckland. Recent arrivals at Hotel Maijdr include Miss A. Greer, Dunedin; Mrs W. A. Shepherd, Rotorua; Mr and Mrs E. C. Magill, Mr C. McClellan, Wellington; Misses E. and V. Kirk, Christchurch; Mr Walter Cashmere and two sons and Mrs Cashmere, senr., Auckland. Visitors, at the; Star Hotel include Mr and Mrs Carr Rollett. Messrs K. Ifwersoh, Browne, Mills’, Blanchfleld, Cooke, Radford, Graham, Evans, Bannatyne, Bromley, Alison, Hawkr ins, Wilson, Lockington, Wotherspoon, Cato, Johnston, Sutherland, Benton, Simmons, Belcher, Wagsstaff, Reid, Mapsell, Gilmour, Zuccani,. Beath, Gable, Spittall and Forbes. Miss Thelma Smedley, who has been spending a holiday with her x parents in 10th Avenue, has returned to Auckland. Mr W. J. (Jack) Robins, son of Mr and Mrs W. E. Robins of Judea is to be married shortly to Miss Flora Mitchell of Woollahra (N.S.W.). Mr Robins is with New Guinea Airways, and: has been in Australia for about five years. Part of the honeymoon is to be spent in New Zealand, and during that time Mr Robins' will bring his bride to visit his parents. They will afterwards live in New Guinea. ' Mr W. A. Gaby, of the technical staff of the Public Works. Department for the last fifteen years, has relinquished his position of engineering draughtsman of the staff to join the firm -of Messrs Butler and Carroll, contractors.
