SHOULD NOT BE JUDGED FROM MOVIES “Don’t judge the American colleges from the way they are shown on the movies,” said' Mrs Ralph Harlow, wife of Professor Harlow, of the Smith College, Mass., U.S.A., in an address in Sydney. “In America most young people g‘o on to college when they leave theii secondary school at sixteen, and remain there till they are about 22. For the young girls it is an intense and interesting life. Airs Harlow, who is a graduate of Radcliffe College, said that she had noticed that both in America and in Australia during the last ten years there had been a great increase in the interest and development of music. “The young American people have every chance to learn about music for in many of our and schools leading conductors give what is called a “music appreciation hour” once a week.
